Details are yet to be confirmed, hopefully later today, but initial advice is that the funeral is on Tuesday 29 Dec 2020 at 1.00 pm at Somerville Funeral Chapel, 129 Nerang – Broadbeach Road Nerang followed by a Wake at Vantage High Rise Ross Street, Benowa.
Ian’s son David has requested that those attending let him know, particularly so that numbers for catering for the wake can be passed on to the caterers. Please reply to rmcclassof1972@gmail.com and to john@trustblack.com.au and John will pass on the names to David.
Advice from Sommerville Funerals is that the capacity of their venue is 90: overflow can attend outside.They have also advised that the funeral will be streamed – a link to the broadcast is on its way, and will be posted on the blog and on Facebook.

RMC Class of 1972 
I was fortunate to have a chat with Callo about a week ago, and I’m sure he would have liked me to pass this on. In his wonderful positive way he talked about how grateful he was for his life, and he had no regrets. He and Barb had moved to their new low maintenance unit and all his affairs were in order, He was in no pain, (he said it was apparently a characteristic of Liver cancer). All his family were close by and he knew the days were numbered. I understand he passed peacefully.
We, finished the chat with the customary ‘mates forever’. We will all miss our dear Callo a great friend , father and human being. His open warm heart and exuberant ways will stay with us forever. It will be a very tough time for Barb but fortunately the family is strong and very supportive.
