Reunion 2002 Video

Just to let you know there is a new video of the Duntroon House barbeque courtesy of Rod Allan. It seems there is very little audio/video of the 2002 reunion around, so if I’m wrong, please send it in. It’s a good chance to see how good your filing system is!!

You’ll find the video under the Reunion 2002 tab on the menu.

There’s a New Menu Page on the Website

A new menu item has been added to our website. It is a page of miscellaneous memorabilia and documentation from 1969 – ’72. Thanks very much to those who have contributed and hopefully it may remind others of a photo, doco or whatever that you may have lying around that you may want to share. If anyone needs a hand to scan things, just give me a call.

You’ll find it under Gallery – down near the bottom – called Doco and Memorabilia . .

Oh, and by the way – is anyone else bringing a special tipple to the Reunion??

SE Qld/Nth NSW Lunch 7 Sep

Message from Maurie Meecham,

David and Trish Cran are passing through Brisbane so I thought it would be a good opportunity for our next lunch. Mac is away that week so I will coord the day.

David is on the organising committee for the Reunion in December so it will be a good opportunity to ask him any questions and to provide feedback on what is already published.

In view of the success of the last lunch at The Ship Inn (Southbank), we will meet there again at 12:30hrs on Wednesday 7th September. Meals and drinks are ordered individually over the bar and I will organise an area for us to sit together as we did last time.

Hope you all can make it.

Please RSVP to my email, not the website, by the end of the month so I can estimate numbers.

Photos in The Gallery

Keen followers will have noticed that the Gallery has changed a bit. We now have a significantly greater number of photos thanks to some hefty contributions from Graham Huggins, Rod Allan and others, so the 4th Class menu has been split into sub menus to hopefully make it easier to find photos.

But, my memory is pretty hopeless about what year things took place, particularly the field bits – perhaps I was asleep! So if anyone would like to let me know what photos to move to their correct homes, I’m happy to do so – just tell me what to move and where to.

Trivia Update 2

We are getting there! It’s testing the old memory and interestingly, coming up with some different recollections.

The latest version is at the Classmates tab on the menu. I’m happy to keep it going if only we could get some more of the missing links – one persons recollection can solve it for 2 others as well.

Cheers

1969 Trivia Update 1

An updated Class List is now on the website and many thanks to all those who provided information. I have sent the odd individual note, but please accept this as a general word of thanks. Apologies to those who tried to comment through the website but struck difficulties – let me know or give me a call and together we’ll get to the bottom of it.

So we have nearly 70% completed – once again a plea to all to check the new information, and ad or correct it where you can. You can find the updated list it by viewing the Class List on the Classmates tab of the menu.

A special thanks to Steve Despoges for sending in an original ’69 org chart for Alamein – I’ll put it up in the Gallery shortly.

Cheers

1969 Trivia . . . .

Just when you thought things were going quiet, here’s something to really get your teeth into!

No, it’s not compulsory, far from it; but some classmates have been wondering if someone else can tell them who their fellow 4th class section mates were. I realise it’s been 53 years and most of us have found more interesting things to fill our heads with, but if you can remember the details, could I’d ask you to put them in the comments box and hit RETURN – and I’ll update the table.

Sorry, but there’s no multi million dollar Nigerian bank account for this one.

Changed Menus

Hello Classmates,

Just a note to let you know that we’ve changed some menus around. The underlying aim was to implement password protection on the Class books for the classes of ’69 and ’71 and of course to have it in place for when our own book comes out later in the year.

In an acknowledgment to the past, the menu heading is ‘In the Book!’

We also moved the Roll Book and Snippets under this menu heading and this will be the new home for any other documents that need protection.

The passwords are applicable at the document level, not the menu level so unfortunately you’ll have to put the password in each time you access a restricted item.

Additionally we’ve created a Class List, of everyone who was on our journey at some stage. Yes it is much like the Roll Book but without the contact details. We don’t have everyone’s Company so please let us know if you can fill in any of the gaps.

Not surprisingly ,the new menu item is called Classmates.

And of course you’d be disappointed if I didn’t ask again for photos, and memorabilia. If you have some material and don’t have a scanner, drop me an email and I’ll walk you through how to get the best, free scanner that’s out there.

Cheers
