Encouraging update on Callo

John Black has passed on the following message from Barb Callan

Ian’s levels have again come down this fortnight and the doctor is very pleased. Because he has tolerated the chemo they have now increased the dose of all three drugs. We are pleased still a long way to go but everything is moving in the right direction
Pls feel free to share this good news

Gold Coast visitors

Some good news from Callo, in conjunction with some welcome visitors:
On Saturday Rod Allan and John Elphinston travelled down to the Gold Coast to my house for a catch up.  Rod had travelled up from Melbourne to see us all. We were later joined by Graham and Gail Huggins.  Just a great boost to my morale plus catching up and discovering links between the four of us that we had forgotten about.  As I have said before Mates Forever.
Pleased to report I am travelling well with no real side affects from the chemo. All my levels/markers are going in the right direction and my third round of fortnightly chemo is on Tuesday 10 March.  I am confident these good results will continue.

Brisbane catch up

Maurie has posted on Facebook a couple of photos (stolen for this post) of the attendees at the Brisbane catch up on 6 March. Callo and Barb attended ‘virtually’ via a video cross, and Rod Allan made an appearance up from Melbourne. I’m sure a more detailed report will be posted soon (hint!).

Still marching in step – – Norm Goldspink

Thanks to Rick Davies for passing on this snippet, via Colin Green, but I’m not sure where it originated:

A few of us (Les Bienk, Bill Spencer, Tim McKenna, Pete Leahy and me) had coffee with Norm this morning. He’s 93 and a little bowed but otherwise in fine form and clarity of memory.  Lois is not good and is immobile due to recent injuries.  Norm seemed to appreciate our conversation ranging far and wide not just 1971.  I showed him the before and after video from the 45th anniversary and an abbreviated Grad74 movie concentrating on 71-74 and the 25th anniversary that he attended.

Can you pass this news onto the class with best wishes from Norm.

Cheers
Bill

Reunion 2022 – Just under 3 years away!

It is early, but perhaps it is a good time to think ahead.

Bill Houston has passed on access to the book the Class of 1969 produced to celebrate their 50th Anniversary. It is very large, almost 80 Mb, so it is located in Dropbox. I have been able to access, with a Dropbox account. The link is Class of 1969 Book

So, have a look, and please post any observations. This is not a call for any remarks about the members of the Class of 1969 (most of whom, actually, I recall fairly fondly) either how they were at the time or how they look now!

Any offers to volunteer to help to produce one for our Class would be welcome.

How many did you do?

Thanks to Frank Edwards for this little gem from The West Australian. Brings back (not fond) memories, and perhaps a thought that a claim might be worthwhile, given the return! But I guess we were never ordered to do push ups as a punishment: it was for our physical development.
